Dear Luka

We have arrived here at Gallipoli and there are lots of mountains around, Turkish soldiers started shooting us and I jumped into the water and lots of people jumped in the water too. When the Turkish soldiers went away we built long walls. We stayed there (but) we have to keep moving round.

Everywhere I look all I see around me is people are dieing. Every night there are guns shooting so I used to it. Turkey people are our foe we fight them everyday.

I am not enjoying the fight, because lots of people got killed. Ye sent me a letter from home I read it, I really miss ye and my family. I want to come back home but I can’t.

I love you mum, dad and brother and you Luka.
